Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-09-23. Sterling Tour and Travel ("we") operates the Sterling Tour and Travel website and mobile app. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account data: name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a salted hash).
• Traveller data needed to issue tickets: passenger names, dates of birth, passport or ID details and contact numbers.
• Booking and payment records: itineraries, receipts, the payment method used and the last four digits of a card. Full card numbers are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you visit, used for security and to keep the service working.

Why we use it

• To search, hold, book and ticket flights with airlines and distribution systems on your behalf.
• To send essential notifications about your trip (e-tickets, schedule changes, refunds). These cannot be switched off while you have an active booking.
• To verify your identity, prevent fraud and meet aviation, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations.
• To answer your support requests.

Who we share it with

Airlines and the distribution systems that issue your ticket, our payment provider, SMS and email delivery providers, and authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for as long as accounting and aviation rules require, typically ten years. Account data is kept until you close your account, after which it is deleted or anonymised within ninety days unless we must keep it by law.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and object to processing that is not required to fulfil a booking. Write to privacy@sterlingtourandtravel.com and we will answer within thirty days.
